This Kindle WiFi was bought in Oct 2015(now out of warranty) for my daughter who never liked it and didn't spend even an hour on this. I charge the battery every few weeks to keep it in shape, other than that it was not used. I have a Kindle PaperWhite myself and I do not see any reason to keep this Kindle WiFi unused at home. So it is on sale.

This is a Kindle WiFi. The basic Kindle when I bought it. This is not a PaperWhite or Voyoge or anything, just Kindle WiFi edition with 6inch touch screen ePaper display.

All the pictures uploaded are the original pictures of Kindle I'm selling.

Being unused it is as good as new and I still have the box.

About Kindle:If you are unaware of Kindle, it's a ebook reader from Amazon for reading ebooks. It uses epaper display and it is like reading a normal paper. It is very easy on eyes like a normal paper. Unlike mobile/tablet screens, the epaper display is perfectly readable even in sunlight. When its dark you can't read it because the screen is not backlit.

Epaper display needs power only when changing the screen contents. So as long as you are on the same page, it does not consume any power. It only consumes power when you change the page or open a book or something like that. So its not the screen that consumes power, its the page changes and the corresponding background processing for page changes. So for ebook reading the battery lasts a few weeks. I think Amazon advertises it as 2 months.

Books: Books need to be downloaded from Amazon. There are many free and paid books on Amazon.

There are many tools in the kindle for vocabulary building. Whenever we come across a word that we do not know, we can tap on the word to immediately see dictionary meaning. The word can be stored so that all such words can be revisted later. Even in the book, we can highlight text where ever we want for later reference and even add notes using the onscreen keyboard.

There are other sites also which provide free ebooks. They can be used too but need to be converted to kindle format and transferred to the kindle using micro usb cable. There are free open source tools available for book conversion.

PDF files, images and text files can also be viewed on the Kindle but these will be far from satisfactory(text files are ok). Amazon provides a kindle email address for each kindle. We can mail documents, pdf files etc to that email address and they will be converted and downloaded to the kindle.

Charging: Kindle does not come with a charger. It can be charged with any micro usb(most non apple phones/tablets) charger.
